Teams
Men's team
In the 2024 season, the first men's team of GC Bergisch Land e.V. will compete in the Regionalliga West 1 of the German Golf League. After we managed to stay in the league last year, our declared goal for the season is to stay in the regional league again this year. We were able to strengthen our team over the winter. Henri Gudenau, Jakob Larsen and Lukas Osburg have enriched the squad in terms of both width and depth. As in the previous year, our captain Pascal Albrecht and our coach Tim Müller will lead us into the season.
The season in the German Golf League starts for us on 5 May 2024 at GC Mülheim an der Ruhr. We then head to Westfälischer GC Gütersloh on 26 May 2024, a course we have particularly fond memories of. We were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga there in the 2016 season. Two weeks later, on 6 June 2024, the third match day will take place at Osnabrück GC. Then comes the highlight of our DGL season. On 23.06.2024 we play at home! The season in the German Golf League ends for us on 21 July 2024 at GC Royal Saint Barbara's Dortmund.
Two season highlights await us after the DGL season. On the weekend of 03/08/2024 - 04/08/2024, we will celebrate the highlight of the club's internal competitions with the club championships at GC Bergisch Land. The crowning finale of the season will take place on 24 August 2024 at GC Royal Saint Barbara's Dortmund, where the second league A in the Willy Schniewind Team Prize, the team competition of the GVNRW, will be held. Two special features distinguish the Willy Schniewind Team Prize from the German Golf League. Firstly, there is no gender segregation. GC Bergisch Land has always fielded teams with equal numbers of the best men and women in the club - without a quota. Secondly, after a counting game qualification, the game is played in a hole play format that always promises intense matches.

Your first men's team of the GC Bergisch Land!
Women's team
After our successful promotion in the 2023 season, the women's team of GC Bergisch Land e.V. will start the 2024 season in the 2nd Bundesliga West of the German Golf League. Our declared goal for the 2024 season is to stay in the 2nd Bundesliga.
We were able to strengthen our team squad with two new additions and the reactivation of our former and long-standing team member Anika Steuernagel. Our new additions Sabrina Thomas and Julia Semesdiek enrich our squad with their playing experience in the regional league. Sabrina Thomas, like most of our long-standing members of the women's team, has already gained experience in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Unfortunately, we will have to do without our longstanding team-mates Katharina Kurz and Laura Kurz this season due to their training. They made a significant contribution to our promotion success last year and are already looking forward to the 2025 season.
Our coach Tim Müller will continue to train us in the 2023 season. He accompanies us during individual league matches and trains us all year round on the grounds of Golfclub Bergisch Land e.V. Teenager Lara Harzen has been training with us since October 2023. We would like to integrate her into the team as a junior player and build her up with the help of our coach.
The season in the German Golf League starts for us on 5 May 2024 at L&GC Hittfeld in Hamburg. The 2nd match day on 26/05/2024 will be at GC Hannover. Two weeks later, on 9 June 2024, the third match day will take place at GC Altruper Heide. Then comes the highlight of our DGL season, the joint home match day with our men's team on 23 June 2024. The season in the German Golf League ends for us on 21 July 2024 at GC Paderborner Land.
Following the DGL season, the club championships await us, which will be held on the weekend of 03.08.2024 - 04.08.2024. Together with the men's team, we will make up the team for the Willy Schniewind Team Prize on 24 August 2024 at GC Royal Saint Barbara's Dortmund. There we will fight to stay in the 2nd league A and hope to be promoted back to the 1st league. We will play 8 singles 18 holes as a counting game qualifier and then 8 match plays.
Together with the men's team, we look forward to your support on the match days and are of course available to answer any questions you may have!

Youth
Our youth, our potential
Our vision
Youth work at the GCBL includes a wide range of programmes for children and young people. The main aim of youth work is to offer all children a sporting home with lots of fun and individual development opportunities. We are delighted to see enthusiastic faces and shining children's eyes as each individual and, of course, our teams continue to improve. Everyone can be part of it here! We offer a wide range of sporting activities and competitions for both occasional recreational sport and - with our club's own performance squad - for ambitious competitive players. Any interested child from the age of 4 to 18 can join us, regardless of whether their parents are members of the club.
Speaking of parents; we are a family club and offer children and parents quality time together with the children at exciting activities such as night golf, the summer party or pumpkin carving in autumn.

Beginners can call or email, our office is the first point of contact. Taster sessions are possible at almost any time and for anyone interested from the age of 4.
Youth
Training programmes as individual as our kids/youth
We offer children and young people aged 4 to 18 a family-friendly environment and excellent training opportunities with intensive training programmes professionally developed by our team of trainers, which are graded according to their willingness and readiness to perform. The young athletes have the ideal opportunity to practise ‘their’ sport in a familiar, family-like environment.
In the summer months we offer training on almost every day of the week, in the winter months on three days of the week. If you are interested, please contact the club secretary or our youth coach directly.
We have a concept of open training groups with targeted training for all ability levels. Friendships are often formed here that go beyond golf and make the sport more interesting. The children also meet up on the golf course outside of training times, play table tennis or chill out in our youth room.
YOUTH
Teams
Our 3 youth teams play in the GVNRW youth league, among others. The programme is complemented by our ‘Mini Series Team’. Our youngest children and young golf beginners play here. We also enter at least 3 AK teams for the German Team Championships. Boys and girls.
We offer every child the opportunity to be part of our team, taking into account their individual playing ability. Our concept includes a comprehensive training programme supplemented by holiday camps, excursions, tournaments with coaching and activities outside the golf course to promote community and friendship.
